I was doing some research tonight (this morning) and caught up with what Magpul has been up to - typical SHOT Show rotation. As you know, Magpul is an outstanding company, pretty much the standard bearer in terms of inovation when it comes to accessories. It seems they've been busy broadening their offering.
The Hunter 700 stock indicates that Magpul is moving in to the affordable market for building out your Remington 700. The stock looks solid, and if the product quality of everything else that Magpul offers replicates to this stock, it will be a bargain. They are offering four colors, and a functional stock. I'm not a 700 owner, but this will be something to check out for sure.
AK lovers can now get a folding stock from Magpul with the Zhukov-S. It seems Magpul is working to make some progress on the quality side for those who dislike the factory (too short) wood stock. I actually think this was the factor that attributed to my parting with my AK a few years ago, it just didn't fit my frame.
Finally, the D-60, Magpul's answer to the anti-magazine community. This drum Pmag operates like others one the market, yet it allows for easy cleaning and disassembly. The D-60 looks fun, and I'll work on getting one for trials so we can see for ourselves how well it functions in a typical AR platform and Sig556. My concern is that with any weighted magazine, it will feel loose, be loose, or rock too much. I saw this with the Pmag Gen3 40rd mags, and will not recommend it. Why? tollerances are something that can be improved, and if a magazine fits an M4/AR but won't fit as well in a Sig556...I'll call it.
